Request...

I'm running out of prims in Koreshan. I have to start thoroughly kissing Chicanery's butt (which I will), but as a back up I need to start looking for something a little bit... uh... bigger.

15000 prims bigger.

I really don't want to own a sim. Monthly teir is like $300 a month, and to buy a sim will cost me $1k USD. That means for the first year I will pay $4600 USD on something that is not tangible, and more often than not is the reason I get heartburn and migranes.

The only way I can talk myself into this is if I find a really cheap sim to buy from someone. I fail at buying land. If anyone has heard of a friend of a friend wanting to get rid of their full or OS for cheap, could you please ask them to IM me?

You'll have to pry my rotting clinging corpse away from Koreshan. If I did get a sim, it would be butted up against Koreshan. Possibly in the spot of ocean behind my shop now.

There is always the case that I can mooch more prims out of Kore and not have to worry about this. But I have less than 500 prims left and that's like... 9 hair vendors. Boo.

Nevermind I talked myself out of it.

Uhm...how many $ exactly are you MAKING from "something that is not tangible"?

You mean in second life or in my RL too, since I create websites?
I'd say all the money I make is from something non tangible.

$4000 is a LOT OF MONEY. If I spend $4k on a computer, it's there, I touch it. I can hug it. If it breaks I go to the genius lab and cry until they fix it.

If I spend $4k on a Second Life sim, I don't get satisfaction guaranteed or your money back service.

I'm not going to make more money because I bought a sim. Making money in SL is completely determined by how much time I have to create new content. With a sim or without a sim, I've still got 6 hours a week.

Hrm, I can think of more reasons not to get a sim than to get a sim.

I'm glad you commented JT.

It's not affordable. I shouldn't bother.

Another thing to consider is your store brings traffic to whatever sim it's in.

I'll be honest - I've gone in the other shops there and looked around the sim only because I had gone there to check out new things in your store in the first place. I probably wouldn't go there if your store wasn't there.

>_> Shattered I'm quoting you when I go kiss Chica's butt today.

I really only need like 1k more prims. I could repackage stuff to create more space. I might have to get rid of Mousezilla.

I don't want to leave Koreshan just cause I've been there since Jan 2007. It's my favorite place in SL.

I really wasn't trying to bitch at u (much) - just making a point.

Yr right about buying a computer - but then that's how i think of buying land (or whatever) in SL, it's a facility so I can do more stuff. It's an investment in ME really, not an investment in SL (cos that idea's a joke!).

Shattered's right - Gritty Kitty is Koreshan and Koreshan is Gritty Kitty, be a shame to see u move. How many times have SL (or RL) places moved to expand and they're never the same...

I want a sim too, and I don't make a sodding thing (well I make shapes, but hey.. anyone can make those)

Let's own a sim together, you can have all the prims until I want some, lulz!

Willow don't tease me.

I'd co-own a sim with you in a heartbeart, but I'd feel super guilt about you paying half the fees.

I am renting a open source sim right now and yah, I don't make as much as I use to because I have to pay rent but it's nice to have my own space and do whatever I want with it.

But you're right, there are more negative reasons to own a sim than positive. I complain all the time to my boyfriend about how they're raising prices on something that in the end is just pixels on pixels. The pricing is so insane and just well... ridiculous. I'm a freakin' art student for christ sake!

However, it is a good idea to partner up with someone and co-own a sim. I've been wanting to do that with friends cause it'll be cheaper than my open source rent I pay right now and I freaking love decorating my land. I'm a dork like that.

One more thing, if you end up having to get new land that doesn't mean that you have to leave Koreshan. You can just keep a smaller location there and update it like your other smaller location.

<3 Good Luck.
